The original idea for our banners came from Leigh Shaffer - a beautiful decoration to cover the windows between the Sanctuary and the Daycare. The First set was created for Christmas of 1980, Second set was created for Easter of 1984. The ladies decided that they liked the colors on the Easter set so much that they remade the Christmas banners with brighter colors. Somewhere between 1985 & 1989 the final Pentecost Banners were created.

Christmas Banners
As much as we would like to name all of the ladies that created our original banners, the only record we currently have is the back of the Pentecost Banners which contain the names of all of the ladies that worked on it. They are as follows, in no particular order: Augusta (Gussie) Lewis, Leigh Shaffer, Eileen Webb, Kim Nelson, Delores Roe, Janice Shaffer, Martha Scott, Kathy Smith, Maxine Kauffman, Carolyn Lewis, Beverly Taylor & Janine Cress Johns.
All of the items above were quickly jotted down during a service conducted by Walter Brand. If you have any additional facts or corrections, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will add or correct them as soon as possible. Photos of our banners are welcome! Contact form below.
